STEM Discovery Events

STEM Discovery Events are a monthly themed event where Kamen STEM will have around 8-10 unique STEM projects that will ether be themed based on that month (ex. winter or Halloween themed) or based on a broad science topic (ex. Space or under the sea). Our STEM Discovery events are Free and open to the public however we do accept donations during the events.

First Lego League

Each year in August, FIRST LEGO League introduces a scientific and real-world challenge for teams to focus and research on.The robotics part of the competition involves designing and programrobots to complete tasks. The students work out a solution to a problem related to the theme (changes every year) and then meet for regional, national and international tournaments to compete, share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots.

Middle School Programs

STEM Saturdays

STEM Saturdays are a 2-5 hour deep dive class where students will discover all about a particular STEM topic. Class could range from how to solder, learn to 3D print, and everything in between. Typically Kamen STEM will host 2-3 STEM Saturdays per month

High School Programs

First Robotics Competition

Each year, teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors work during a six-week period to build game-playing robots that weigh up to 120 pounds (54 kg). Robots complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals, flying discs into goals, inner tubes onto racks, hanging on bars, and balancing robots on balance beams

Power Racing Series

Power Racing Series is a power wheels racing competition. It's modeled after the racing series 24 Hours of LeMans however with child sized cars. The power racing series competitions are held at Maker Faire events across the USA.

Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

In this week long camp college students will get the opportunity to design and develop a business and a product idea from the ground up. At end of the week long Boot-camp students will present there company and ideas at an open house in front of community members and potential investors.
